Immerse

2024 UCDA Design Educator Summit

The 19th annual UCDA Design Education Summit gathered design educators, chairs, and students nationwide for three days of professional learning at the ASU Polytechnic Campus. The 2023 GIT Creative Agency supported the event with a unified set of web, social, print, and AR/VR deliverables that strengthened its presence and engagement.

My Role:

Lead Graphic Designer

Branding & Identity

Theme

Our client wanted to align with Arizona sunset colors so we chose colors that were vibrant and eye catching along with a modern futuristic font.

Visuals

Free Flowing
These shapes follow the natural curves of the Liquid Heatwave.

Borders & Columns
Liquid Heatwave can sit inside one border or one column on a page.

Circular
Liquid Heatwave can sometimes go inside a circle, but it must be a perfect circle, not an oval.

Wayfinding

The wayfinding system balanced simplicity with bold, high-impact design to guide guests from the Four Points Hotel to the Immerse Summit. Each sign used strong visual cues that stood out against the desert backdrop, making the route easy to follow and the branding quick to recognize.

Print - Lanyards

The event lanyards were designed in three clear types for attendees, volunteers, and speakers, making roles easy to spot at a glance. Each badge also included the event map on the back so guests could quickly find their way around the Polytechnic Campus without extra materials.

Print - Map

We developed a map to help guests navigate the Polytechnic Campus, where many buildings look alike and room numbers can get confusing. The map also included a light scavenger hunt that encouraged guests to hold onto it, explore the campus, and notice Arizona’s native plants and wildlife along the way.

Social Media

Planning

Social media design took careful planning, especially since the content needed to feel friendly, clear, and exciting. As the lead, I focused on making sure the full Immerse experience was represented online, including the moments before, during, and after the event.

Results

I especially enjoyed creating different versions of the Instagram carousels and the UCDA website banners. These pieces became the static posts now featured on the UCDA Instagram page.

Merch

Result

Our merch line started with simple concepts like a staff tee for easy volunteer identification, metallic gold and black cactus pins, and a carabiner water bottle wrapped in 360-degree heatwave graphics. The final collection expanded to include new pieces such as an Immerse hoodie, travel and enamel mugs, hats, and more. All merch was showcased and sold through a fully developed website created by our project manager, making the collection easy for guests to browse and purchase.
